Encouraging High Performance by Celebrating Diversity

Diversity issues are of increasing interest in organisations and for good reason. Diversity is the way in which we, as human beings, differ both visibly and invisibly. These differences are often undervalued in the workplace, and organisations are increasingly looking to adjust their behaviours and mindsets, in order to accommodate the great variety of employees at all levels in their workforce.

 

Acknowledging and valuing difference is a creative and honourable way to achieve higher performance outputs in organisations. Most organisations are familiar with equality legislation, yet many do not appreciate the myriad ways in which we exclude people through stereotyping and assumptions.
